In commemoration of Africa Day on 25 May, fraymedia Foundation unveiled the #AfricaThroughHerLens visual heritage initiative, a compelling campaign honouring African women who narrate their stories through visual mediums.

This groundbreaking campaign aims to spotlight the everyday brilliance, ingenuity, and unique viewpoints of African women both on stage and behind the camera. fraymedia Foundation is building a collection of visual stories by African women, offering a global perspective.

Throughout Africa Day week, spanning 25-31 May 2025, fraymedia Foundation will illuminate the artistic endeavours of African women photographers, videographers, filmmakers, visual artists, journalists โ€” and grassroots storytellers โ€” who capture the vibrancy of life, cultural richness, and creative expression across the continent.

The featured artists represent diverse nations including South Africa, Kenya, DRC, Zimbabwe, Angola, Zambia, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Malawi. Discover how you can take part and showcase your work in this campaign here.
