Elizabeth Sejake stands as an accomplished multimedia journalist and photographer, having carved out a distinguished career in South African media. Currently contributing her expertise to Rapport Newspaper, she has previously lent her photographic and journalistic talents to prominent publications including the Sowetan, Sunday Times and City Press. Her body of work reflects an unwavering commitment to storytelling through both visual and written mediums.
Having honed her technical and creative abilities at Photo Teach, Elizabeth later secured a prestigious Reuters Foundation scholarship, enabling further studies at Cardiff University in Wales. She also received the Masakhane Japan Fellowship, which led to her work being exhibited across multiple Japanese cities, introducing her unique visual perspective to international audiences.
Elizabeth’s professional journey has been marked by numerous accolades celebrating her contributions to journalism and photography. In 2024, she claimed both Regional and National Vodacom Photographer of the Year honours. The following year brought recognition through the Gauteng Regional Vodacom Journalist Award. Her achievements extend to recognition at the Coca-Cola Sports Awards and accolades from the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), further cementing her position as a leading figure in her field.
